So...what is sporting clays?

SHOTGUN SPORT
Clay target shooting is a fun and safe shotgun sport for the entire family. Mechanical traps are used to throw clay disc targets in varying directions allowing a shooter with a shotgun the opportunity of a sporting challenge anytime of the year.
FIELD REPLICATION
Sporting Clays is a clay target game designed to replicate every conceivable shot encountered in field shooting. On a Sporting Clays course, shooters are presented with a wide variety of targets that simulate the flight path of different game species (teal, dove, quail, pheasant and even a bouncing rabbit), such as flushing, crossing, incoming and other angling shots.

20 SHOOTING STATIONS
Our Sporting Clay Main Course is situated in natural surroundings and includes 20 stations with shooters moving from one station to the next to complete the course. Each station presents shooters with a different type of shot. At a “grouse station”, for example, shooters might face flushing birds that zip in and out of the trees. At a “decoying duck station”, incoming targets may float in toward the shooter.
NATURAL FEATURES
Courses make use of natural features such as woods and ponds to create a realistic setting for each type of shot. At any station, targets may be thrown as singles, simultaneous pairs, following pairs (one target right after the other), or report pairs (the second target launched at the sound of the gun being fired at the first).

VARIOUS TARGETS
To further challenge shooters, target size may vary from the standard trap/skeet clay bird to the smaller “midi” and “mini” targets, or a flat disc shaped “battue” target. There are even special “rabbit” targets that are thrown on end and skitter across the ground.
JUST LIKE GOLF
Sporting clays is among the most popular of the shooting disciplines. Internationally recognized as a competitive sporting event. Sporting clays is also used as a form of wing shooting practice and is commonly referred to as “golf with a shotgun”. Just like golf, all sporting clays courses are different, always providing the shooter with a constant challenge
